Electrodes and Supplies

We offer three kinds of electrodes: ActivEEG electrodes (a type of snap-in electrode); conventional snap-in electrodes; and standard cup electrodes. You can buy them with supplies packages, that include everything you need to get started. Or you can buy them by themselves, if you already have a stock of supplies.

We also offer two headband systems for applying electrodes using saline solution rather than electrode paste.

ActivEEG Electrodes

The ActivEEG electrode contains a circuit board within the electrode itself at the scalp site. The result is a zero-impedance signal and very fast snap-in hook-ups for everyone.

The ActivEEG electrode head accepts disposable snap-in electrodes, which you can purchase in the Snap-In packages shown in the next section below.

Snap-in Electrodes

Snap-ins include a head, into which snaps a disposable electrode. They can be very convenient to use, and they remove the worry about damaging an expensive electrode that will have to be replaced. They are somewhat more expensive to use than the cup electrodes, because the disposable electrodes have to be replaced.

Silver Cup Electrodes

We offer high quality molded solid silver cup electrodes and ear clips, with a one year warranty. There is no plating that will flake off and the connection between electrode and lead wire is very stable. Silver is an excellent conducter.

Headsets for Saline Electrodes

Saline is an excellent conducter, and does not create any mess in the hair. The headband systems also make it easier to apply a number of electrodes at one time. The QDS ElectroCap uses plastic rings and screws to attach the electrodes. The Stoler NeuroBand uses velcro.
